Some destinations simply can not be described in words, but you can be inspired by their photos. One of such places is picturesque Makrinitsa village, located on the slopes of Mount Pelion. Over the years, this has been my favorite destination for spring or autumn weekend getaways. Also, this is my first Photo Post, as the village is so charming, scenic and lovely that I just could not stop taking pictures of everything again and again, especially against the background of enchanting mountain views and got a lot of inspirational photos to visit Makrinitsa.
Makrinitsa is also called the “Balcony of Pelion”, as its central square offers stunning panoramic views of the Volos and the Pagassian Bay. In recent decades, the village has become a popular tourist destination, but it still managed to keep its unique flavor and charm.
Traditional stone houses (designed in the same style), cobbled streets and numerous fountains create a special atmosphere and comfort. In the cozy taverns and cafes under the century-old plane trees, you can hide from the heat, relax and enjoy the excellent local cuisine.
