1. Deira, Dubai
The second oldest district of Dubai, Deira, is near to the airport. The area is notably recognized for its many markets; there’s a gold souk, a textile souk, and a spice souk. More cost-effective hotels are here, with quite pushy vendors and an extraordinary selection of craftsmanship!
The closeness to the airport makes this area ideal if you are only in Dubai for a night or two as a stopover. All places can be accessed easily and quickly. There are oriental markets, narrow alleys between traditional houses and skyscrapers. Deira is cheap in everything from accommodation to food, from parking to shopping. If you go to Dubai Creek, you will see an
immaculate and modern area with high-rise and not-so-high buildings, business centres, shopping centres, cafes, etc.
If you are planning to book a desert safari, you should stay here because tour operators may offer you some discount as it’s close to the desert area. You can read more about the desert safari here.
