EXPLORING THE FOUR SEASONS ASTIR PALACE ATHENS
Last week I had a great opportunity to visit a new gem of the Athenian Riviera. Generally, we have been waiting for a few years before this impressive hotel became the Four Seasons Astir Palace. Everyone was expecting something awesome, and this hotel is truly amazing. Just WOW!
By the way, I am very proud that this is the FIRST Four Seasons hotel in Europe, which is located right on the beach!
I am pleased to present to you my inspection of this luxury hotel and below you will find all the necessary information about the hotel which will make you WANT to visit it, for sure.?
LOCATION
The best part. The hotel has a really unique location on its own peninsula in the Vouliagmeni area of the Athenian Riviera. The resort is immersed in greenery and pine trees. From the one side of the peninsula, there are beaches and a swimming pool and on the other side – you can find a marina with luxury yachts.
The hotel is located just 30 minutes drive from Athens Airport and about the same time from the center of Athens. Also, for the special VIP guests, the hotel has its own helicopter pad.
The area of Vouliagmeni is famous for its fish taverns and restaurants, cozy bars and cafes overlooking the bay, but it is also one of the most elite areas of the Athenian Riviera, perfect for long walks and breathtaking sunsets.
This is a great place to relax all year around, that’s why the hotel will be open also during the winter season, but only the Arion building.
THE RESORT AREA
The Four Season Astir Palace consists of the Arion building, the Nafsika building, bungalows, several restaurants, bars, tavern, pool area, parking, and private beaches.
The Arion is the main build as it operated all year round and just perfect for couples and business trips. It has rooms and suites with a Sea View or a Pine/Marina View.
All rooms have a retro- chick design with automatic curtains, mirror TV in bedrooms and some bathrooms (guys its really a brilliant idea?), even some bath tuns with a Sea View.
In the room, you can find coffee and tea facilities with different snacks, i-pod room controls, furnished balconies and much more that you can check on their website.
Also in the Arion building, they have a unique 3 floor Suite, called the Arion Riviera Suite with Private Plunge Pool (on its roof garden). This Suite also has a gym, sauna, hammam, business room and all this with breathtaking views around. Can you imagine the size of this Suite? We are talking about 450 m2 (4,850 sq.ft.), I bet you can also imagine how much you will be spending on this accommodation. Big Suite, Big Wallet?. It’s a pity, but I can’t publish any photos of this Suite, as it is not yet fully ready, but believe me, it will be very luxurious.

Also in the Arion building, you can find the Astron Lounge (the outside view is magical), the Aristotle’s Cigar Bar with impressive whiskey and brandy collection, a Greek tavern, a seafood restaurant, a SPA and the main restaurant for breakfast.
The Nafsika building is perfect for families and all rooms and suites have a Sea View and some of them with a Private Pool or terrace.
All rooms have the same facilities as in the Arion. It has also the Nafsika Ambassador Suite with a Plunge Pool, but this suite is not so huge and only 220 m2 (2,367 sq.ft.).? The Nafsika building is welcoming guests only during spring/summer/autumn seasons.

Inside you will find the main restaurant for breakfast, a fitness center, luxury boutiques, a children playroom, the Lounge and Bar Aura, an Italian restaurant and a poolside grill house.
I really liked the pool area and its design in white colors, surrounded by palms and flowers. This somehow reminded me of Mykonos island.
The Bungalows. Perfect for those who prefer privacy. They also not operate during the winter season as most of them have private Garden and Pool. Some of them are suitable for families with 2 children. All bungalows have access to a private beach.
DINING AROUND
Although the hotel operates on the bed and breakfast base, the choice of restaurants here is really impressive.
- Pelagos restaurant specializes in seafood and fish dishes.
- Mercato restaurant – Italian tastes for lunch and dinner. It is also operating in the morning for coffee with fresh pastries.
- Taverna 37 is situated on the beachfront and offer a selection of Greek meat, fish and vegetable dishes.
- Helios Mexican restaurant with spicy Mexican dishes, traditional margarita and even live DJ, who plays Latin music and you can dance till the late night.
- Astron lounge and terrace where, by the way, I had a tasty cold coffee is open all day for coffee, cocktails, lunch, and dinner.
- They have also several independent restaurants located on the peninsula. Matsuhisa Japanese restaurant with a famous chef in Greece and the best sushi in Athens. Astir Beach restaurant for lunch and sunset cocktails.
SWIMMING ALL DAY
As I told you this is a beachfront hotel, so for sure, you can spend a whole day laying with a cold coffee or cocktail?near the pool or swimming around the peninsula.
The hotel has a special cleaning system, so don’t worry to find a dirty sea, even on windy days.
They have three private beaches suitable for children and adults with free sunbeds, umbrellas, and cabanas.
Τo understands the cost of visiting the beach for non-residents starts from 125 euros per person. So, don’t expect the crowds of tourists?.
Also, near the Arion building, you will find different water sports and even you can book a speedboat. During my visit, I noticed some of the tourists on a SUP (stand up paddle) along the coast. Ι envied them a little bit?, as I am a big fan of SUP and this place is just perfect.
SUN AND FUN (ACTIVITIES)
If you prefer a more active holiday vacation, with a lot of activities involved, the Four Seasons Astir Palace provides for their clients’ many alternatives. They have three tennis courts and one basketball court, jogging trails and you can also find the Glyfada Golf Club nearby.
Due to the excellent location of the hotel, various excursions can be organized. You can go to Athens and see the Acropolis, or visit the southernmost point of Attica and enjoy the sunset from Cape Sounion. In the hotel, there is a possibility to rent a car and to explore Attica, Pellopenesse and central Greece by yourself.
The area of Vouliagmeni is famous for its lake Vouliagmeni, which can be found near the hotel. This lake is well known for its beneficial properties on the skin and joints, spa fishes which make a “complimentary” pedicure and warmth water, even in winter, the water temperature does not fall below 22 degrees. This place is striking in its beauty and is protected by UNESCO. You will find a dressing room, shower, sun beds, and a cafe there also.
For shopaholics, there is a neighboring area Glyfada with many boutiques and shops. Glyfada also is well known for excellent restaurants and modern cafes.
The hotel specializes in organizing various events such as weddings and even international conferences.
MY RESUME
I want to pay your attention one more time that this is NOT sponsored post, as you noticed I only have positive comments ?about the Four Season Astir Palace.
The hotel has a really winning location, excellent services, multilanguage and helpful staff, modern rooms, various restaurants and amenities, activities for children and adults. I fell in love with this place and hotel at first sight!
The only negative moment that I can point out is the rather high price of the rooms?. As I was told, you pay for services of the Four Season Hotels and Resorts and they have really high standards…
Are you still looking for a luxury hotel in Greece? Ι am sure the Four Seasons Astir Palace is what you want!?

Four season hotel i firstly met in Egypt. It is too luxurious but too expensive. Costs cc 500 dollars per night.. It was really too much on me.
Anyway i never understand the idea have swim Ing pool directly before the SEA 😀 for me its kind of funny i always prefer the natural Sea..

Thank you dear Sajda! Yes, you are right these chain of hotels are too expensive, but at least in such hotels, everything is top notch 🙂 Look, when I was there in May, the sea was still quite cold, so the pool was a good alternative. But, I agree with you, as I also prefer the sea to the pool 🙂
