STAYING AT DOLCE ATTICA RIVIERA
The last three days I spent in the resort hotel DOLCE ATTICA RIVIERA 4*near Athens in the historical area of Vravrona. In this hotel, I had previously stayed when it was the former, Mare Nostrum up until it got sold 2 years ago to the American hospitality company Wyndham destinations. The hotel is popular for conferences and spa vacations, it is also well known among French tourists.
So let’s see what has changed in these two years…
From the first step inside the hotel, I was astonished by the new interior of the reception and the main hall. It has become more modern, neoteric, fresh and stylish and spacious.
ACCOMMODATION
Currently, only half of the rooms have been renovated but during this year (2018-19) the hotel plans to finish all the rooms and even add a few new bungalows with a plunge pool. You can enjoy a wide selection of rooms such us: Deluxe rooms, Executive rooms, Premium and family rooms, bungalows and high-class Junior and Executive Suites.
The hotel has a very unusual numbering of floors. They seem to be upside down. The αbove ground floor and up, consists of 4th, 5th, and 6th floors, however, from the ground floor and down, it starts with the 3rd, 2nd, and the last floor is the 1st floor.
I stayed on the 5th floor and had the Deluxe room which had an amazing view of the bay. Ι really liked the cozy interior, comfortable bed, modern bathroom and it’s breathtaking balcony with sea view.
RESTAURANTS AND BARS
The hotel has made some changes and moved away from the all-inclusive system, recently reservations are only possible for breakfast and dinner. However, the French groups still have a contract on the all-inclusive base, which the hotel kindly offered to me as well.
I was treated to a rich buffet which included breakfast, lunch and dinner served in the Main Restaurant of the hotel called “Thea”. This is exactly what my heart and stomach desired with this fantastic view. There is also “the Filema Ala Carte” winter restaurant for the Mediterranian cuisine, “the Secret” summer restaurant for afternoon dining and lunch, “the Ammos” which is the brand new tavern overlooking the beautiful sea Gulf, “the Aria” which is the all-day main bar, “the Ilios” pool bar and finally“the Galaxy lobby bar” for the winter months.
SPA AND RELAXATION
You get a 15-minutes complimentary massage (offered for every visitor who stays for at least 2 nights) as a bonus. The thalassotherapy center includes a swimming pool with hydromassage, hammam, sauna, gym, massage cabins etc. I enjoyed my time at the Thalassotherapy Center of the Aegeo Spa, where I dove in the crystalline waters of the pool and was feeling the energy of the water to put me in a calm state. The jacuzzi and the hydro-massage completed the wider picture of timeless watery relaxation.
So for me, it was a great alternative instead of going to the beach.
